4-Day Desert Tour: Marrakech to Fez

The trip commences from Marrakech, passing by Tizi Tichka, and then we will proceed
through the Ksour and Kasbah. Shortly after, you will explore Ait Benhaddou, one of the
UNESCO world heritage sites and a village where numerous films were filmed. Historically,
this village served as a traditional junction for caravans connecting Marrakech with the south
of the Sahara, trading both goods and slaves. Before continuing to Ouarzazate, you will enjoy
your lunch. Next, you will visit the film studios and the Taourirt Kasbah. You will have the
opportunity to have your evening meal in Ouarzazate, where you will spend a wonderful
night

After waking up a little earlier for the second day trip, the driver will take you straight ahead to
Soukora, one of the cooperatives that still reside and farm. It is also categorized as a UNESCO
international world heritage site. Now we are going to visit Kelaat Mgouna, a city known for
being a vigorous place and a commercial, economic, and social hub for the residents of the
region. More importantly, Maggouna is famous for its “flower festival” that takes place every
year in May. A stop by the Dades Valley is needed to enjoy photographing the panoramic view
of this stunning valley. We will then proceed to the Gorges of Todra; a popular area for three
hundred wall climbers. Finally, you will dine under the night stars on the sandy plateau, plus
enjoy an overnight stay.

Rissani will be our next destination, the ancient capital of Erfoud. It is pinpointed as a crossroad
between the south and north. Rissani was an earlier trade center and remains up-to-date. There,
you can come across the open market “souk”, which takes place three times a week: Tuesday,
Thursday, and Sunday. The Madfouna is recommended to be tried for your lunch dish as a
Berber pizza of the region. At this moment, we are in Merzouga, the entrance to the Moroccan
Sahara, where a visitor cannot miss the sea sand of Erg Chebbi. Explore the beauty of the hill
of sounds, particularly at sunrise and sunset. Your local guide will take you on an amazing
camel ride towards the desert. Once you arrive at your lodgings, your guide will cook your
evening meal and light up the campfire. Meanwhile, you can relax or enjoy a short trek on the
sandy hills.

After a delicious breakfast, we will set out to the north via the Middle Atlas Mountains,
going past Midelt to Ifrane city, “the Switzerland of the kingdom.” Efous and Ziz Valley
will stop on our way. The area is an adequate field for those who are always eager to take
souvenir pictures. Furthermore, as mentioned before, we will pass by the great cedar forest
and stop in Ifrane, where we’re going to see some Barbary Apes around the cedar trees.
Continuing our journey, we will drive through scenic landscapes, eventually arriving in Fez,
one of Morocco’s most vibrant cities, known for its historic medina and rich cultural heritage.
